Re: Worshiping Dwarves

Post by Huitzil on Thu Nov 15, 2012 12:15 pm

SPOILERS!!! no I'm kidding, I read it when I was 8, and again a few months ago!

I'm trying not to think about the ending. I read an article somewhere with Richard Armitage (maybe in Empire magazine?) that he hadn't filmed his 'most emotional' seen at the end of principal shooting, so it must've been part of the stuff they were called back for when they expanded it to three films. In which case, they must've known they would always do three films, as its kind of a big thing to miss out!

Part of me almost hopes Peter Jackson would change the ending, but I know he couldn't as there would be uproar!

yes, that would be a real mess around the movie. as same as with My Sister's Keeper movie and the book. two separate endings and a really big words around it

Okay, Dwalin is really cool - can't wait to see him in action! And Ori is just really cute.... woohoo

About the ending - well, maybe he changes something... I mean, he's put an elf (Tauriel) in the movie, who's not in the book...

Another exsample is LotR - Arwen doesn't actually say anything until the third book and Haldir never went to Helms Deep!

So a bit of artistical freedom is needed here! yeah

i know what you mean! remember Celeborn dying in Helm's Deep? in the book this has never happened. but hey, enough of LOTR.

in the book there's no word of Legolas either

Celeborn doesn't die in Helms Deep... In the movie, Haldir went to Helms Deep and brought a message from Elrond about the old alliance between men and elves... And sadly he was killed...

Celeborn went to Grey Havens with Galadriel in the end... nerd
